Newton Residents at the Falls at Cordingly Dam dead from COVID-19, substantial number test positive

Newton Residents within the Falls at Cordingly Dam assisted living community have passed away from COVID-19 and a substantial number have tested positive for the virus.

The staff of the City of Newton Health and Human Services Department has been in close contact with the leadership at the Falls to support efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 among residents and staff. More positive cases are likely to be identified at the falls and NHHS will continue to work with the Falls to support them in efforts to fight the spread of the virus.

This development underscores the vulnerability of group living facilities during this pandemic. As citizens, we must remain committed to social/physical distancing protocols to slow community transmission of COVID-19.
